For Ian. Because his internet doesn't offer enough, and I'm Jet lagged
So I've had to take a break from the blog, but it's not like it's been 5 months...oh wait, it has. Unfortunately, that has only upset a certain burgee-ning writer in the tall corn state.
The summer has been a whirlwind. It is now 4 months since tranferring into solar and it has been crazy. A lot to learn, but so much opportunity. Hopefully this whole "sun" thing continues to work out! Some other hgihlights from the last 5 months: turned 30, hit Lake Tahoe, played a fair amount of golf (poorly), visited the Hockey Hall of Fame, lost 2 hockey championship games in shootouts (back to back), visited Germany, spent Labor Day at Will's (Check out his blog, it's finally updated) and shopped for furniture, and successfully fought off the claw.
I'm now back in Germany, and the google site automatically assumes I speak German so posting this has been a chore. I'll be here for a few more weeks, and I hope to get to see a bunch of cool stuff. I will post pics when I can, and update this post for my one reader.
Ok, now to get back to sleep if i can...

Long Awaited Updates (like the 9th Police Academy)
So, the 18th Annual Las Vegas Hockey Tournament has come and gone. From last Thursday through Monday (I stayed an extra day) it was gamblin', drinkin', and hockey. I came up a loser in all three categories. Not too many crazy stories (well, maybe not for such a public forum!!), so you'll have to catch me at the next family/friend gathering to get the director's cut. For now, it was just a few cans of beer, a few lost hands of Pai Gow, and 2 assists in the tournament. I swear that's all that happened.
This week, it is getting down to decision time about where my next career move will be. Staying within the same company, but looks like I'll be switching into a technical marketing position. It should be pretty exciting. Getting a chance to learn some new skills and work with some new people should be good. Plus, it sets me up nicely to start biz school in the fall. The application deadline is coming up faster than I think, but the procrastination gene prevents me from getting things completed with time to spare. Thanks, Will.
There's just way too much good stuff on the Discovery Channel and Food Network.
Things should be pretty relaxing in the next week and then there will be a few trips coming up (Perhaps Utah again) after that.
That's all for now. Check back in for more news of the NERB!

LLLLLETS GET RREADY TO HEAR BRENDAN TALK ABOUT HIMSEEEELF!
So the disappointment with California McCombs blog has forced be to jump on the proverbial bandwagon.
I have a lot of time right now because I have somehow given myself pneumonia (human form I think. Wikipedia refers to animal form as well). This is the worst time to be sick because I'm in the process of switching jobs since the division I work for got shutdown. Not good.
I'm looking forward to the semiannual trip to Las Vegas to play ice hockey. It is a great time and our team that played in October was the champs! I am not sure where the team name came from...
This will probably be a text only version of the blog, not sure if I'll have time to hook in YouTube videos and tons of pictures. If you want that fancy stuff, check out breens.org
I'm a huge Washington Redskins fan and a New Jersey Devils fan, but I also like the San Jose Sharks since they're the local team here in NorCal.
Two things I'd like to accomplish in the next year is to buy a house (comedy) and get into grad school. I will be going for a business degree, thereby "selling out" as my buddy Ben has told me.
Near term, settling on a new job would be a nice start!
